Prior to attending law school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Southwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Before taking the bench, Judge Bell maintained a successful private law practice for nearly twenty years, focusing primarily on family law and complex civil litigation. His experience includes child custody disputes, complex property cases, and civil litigation involving significant legal and financial issues. This background enables him to understand the real-life impact of court decisions.
Service to the Legal Profession
Judge Bell has been recognized by the State Bar of Texas as a member of the Pro Bono College, reflecting his commitment to providing legal assistance to individuals unable to afford representation. He served four years on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee prior to taking the bench and has served as President of the Fort Bend County Bar Association and the Fort Bend County Dispute Resolution Center. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center.

Judge Bell remains deeply engaged in the Fort Bend County community. He has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. In 2022, he served as President of the Exchange Club of Sugar Land and previously served as Treasurer of the Sugar Land Little League.
